These coffee beans come from the Masha washing station which buys its cherries from over 2,500 farmers in the area. These local farmers only have a couple hundred coffee trees which produce less than a pallet of specialty coffee each season. Because of the small size, community washing stations like Masha sort and blend the local crop in order to support the local region's. All coffee from Burundi are of the Bourbon variety which lends to the complex flavors of sweet fruits such as peach, orange, and raspberry.
